ASHFORD Athletic Club are looking to appoint a new head coach after the resignation of Stella Bandu at the club’s annual meeting held recently.
Lorna Miller and Tina Tappenden have joined the executive covering the Under 15 sector with Tina taking over from Mary Holmes as the team managers representative.
The club chairman will be elected at the first executive meeting on May 21
The club have now completed the purchese of the photo finish equipment and are now looking to run more sourses to increase the number of operators for photo finish. This is a joint venture with ALT.
A new tripod will allow the system to be used on the infield with double beam finish poles for better finish line accuracy and there is also a gazebo to keep the equipment dry on the infield.
This move will keep the photo finish away from spectators and athletes and cut down the amount of cabling needed to run of the meeting room in the main stand.
All eyes will be on Ashford’s Julie Rose Stadium over the weekend of May 12/13 when they again host the annual Kent track and field championships.
This year the championships will feature disability events for the first time.
