Coronavirus AAC UPDATE
Posted: 17th Mar 2020 by Kate Dickinson
To all Club members and those associated with the Club:
Following advice from the Julie Rose Stadium this morning, and the England Athletics website, Ashford Athletic Club will NOT be training on Club nights at the Julie Rose Stadium from today, Tuesday 17th March, until at least the end of April 2020. We will update this information as and when we can, so do please keep checking back for more information, and in the meantime please take care and stay safe. Athletes who train on other nights independently, please contact your coach to confirm any arrangements. Please see below:
“As a result, England Athletics advises that all face-to-face activity such as club training sessions, events, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, athlete camps, running groups and social events should be suspended until at least the end of April.”
“Therefore, AAC should not come to the JRS to train.”

Spring Road Relays
Posted: 14th Mar 2020 by Lewis Smith
It's that time of the year again - spring road relays!
The road relays are a series of five 4km (ish) races on Tuesday nights, around the county, where you can run for your club. The races are totally inclusive for all ages and abilities - the Club are able to enter numerous teams so we hope to see lot's of athletes turning out. The Senior Men’s teams comprise of four runners, and the Senior Ladies and Veteran Men’s teams comprise of three runners.
The Club pays your entry fee. All you need is your Ashford AC vest, running shoes, and a sense of team spirit and adventure. We have some really strong runners so you will need to put up a good fight for the top slots, but we desperately want to see a lot of yellow and black vests at these events, especially the Ashford one (which we need to provide marshals for as well). Athletics is all about inclusivity, so let’s demonstrate our inclusivity by getting lots of people out to these races.
1 - Folkestone - Tuesday 19th May 2020;
2 - Minnis Bay - Tuesday 26th May 2020;
3 - Ashford (Victoria Park) - Tuesday 9th June 2020;
4 - Samphire Hoe - Tuesday 23rd June 2020;
5 - Canterbury - Tuesday 7th July 2020.
If you would like to sign up or get some more information, then please speak to Doc (Gerard O'Sullivan) or Coach Stella on any Club night.
We hope that these events will still go ahead, despite uncertainty around sporting events at the moment. However, if there are any changes then this will be posted on the website and athletes will be informed.
