It is with sadness that  we must announce that one of the founder members of Ashford Athletic Club, an active coach and lifelong supporter of the club Ted  Hawkins passed away in the early hours of Sun  29th May .    This was then closely  followed by the passing of his wife Elizabeth on the evening of June 1st.  On behalf of All members past and present,Ashford AC wishes to offer condolences to Stephen, Robert ,Sue and family.

Ted had an impact on thousands of athletes, coaches, parents, officials, and members of the public. He lived, breathed, and slept athletics.

He had been an inspirational part of the club since its beginning and played a big part in fundraising for and getting the Julie Rose Stadium built for the benefit of all.

Their joint funeral will be held at Charing Crematorium at 12 .15 on Wednesday 29th June

In their honour, the family be proceeding from their home, Harvey Road on motorcycles or in cars at around 11.45. There will be a live stream available, details to follow, and reception at the 'Shute' in the Julie Rose stadium during & after the funeral. All that knew them are welcome to attend.
