Kent Young Athlete league at Tonbridge last weekend

Posted: 13th Aug 2022 by Ashford AC News

24 of our Under 13 and Under 15 athletes competed at the fourth and final match of the Kent Young Athlete league at Tonbridge last weekend.

The strong U13 boys team were placed first for the third consecutive time, despite missing several athletes due to holidays.  Over all Ashford AC finished in 5th place a great achievement with this being many of the athletes first season of competition. Plans are already in place for preparing our teams for next year.  Please make contact if you would like to be involved.

There were many great individual performances with over 20 PBs and an AAA Grading and new KYAL record for Ava Chappell.

Thank you to the parents that stepped up to volunteer in the absence of Lesley who was recovering from an operation.  Thank you, Lesley, for all your support throughout the league and we wish you a speedy recovery.

If you would like to become an official, 1 day courses are available through British Athletics.  Registered officials are vital to our club and ensure we can continue to enter league events across all age groups.  Please contact Natalie or Jacqi if you'd like more information.

Kent Young Athlete league at Erith June 25th 2022

Posted: 12th Jul 2022 by Kate Dickinson

Over 30 of our U13 and U15 boys and girls  athletes competed at the third Kent young athletes  match on the weekend of June 25th at Erith.

The strong U13 boys’ team were placed first for the second consecutive time, despite missing two athletes due to illness.

There were many great performances, numerous pbs and three athletes gained AAA Gradings.  A big well done to so many that competed in events new to them  gaining coaching experience on the day from AAC Coaches  Jacqi  and Hayley

Fantastic team spirit

As ever the relays proved to be the highlight of the day as the teams really pulled together to gain valuable points.

A big thank you to Lesley Hall for supporting as an official and all the parents that gain new skills helping with the field events.

These results from both the  boys and the  girls being even more remarkable , with the fact  we have had no training facilities  on a  400m running track all season ,  for all the  track and field disciplines due to work being completed  at the Stadium.

Well done everyone

Our next match is on August 6th at Tonbridge  --
